Raymond Chua Seng-Chye, Chinese, began his interest in photography during school days in the 70’s. However, it was only since 1979 that he really began actively winning awards and recognition both in the local and international arena.

Today, he has held several solo exhibition of works in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), East Malaysia (Sabah), China (Guizhou), including one locally, with the theme, “Stage Photography” that is entitled “Dance Impression”, one of his specialized field which was held in conjunction with the Singapore Dance Festival in 1987.

Apart from being the chairman of the SAFRA Photographic Club for two terms from 1991/92 and 1992/93, Raymond is also currently the techniques advisors to the Singapore Colour Photographic Society, SAFRA Photographic Club, Kampong Glam CC Photo Club, MacPherson CC Photographic Club and the Photographic Society of Johore, Malaysia etc.

Actively promoting photography arts, he has also contributed to judging both local and international photographic competitions. His current contributions include expanding his field in nature and travel photography and holding talks and workshops relating to photographic arts.

蔡承材先生，活跃于业余摄影圈多年，喜爱舞台，旅游，自然生态摄影。其作品曾多次入选于国内外影展，并获得不少奖牌。１９８５年考获英国皇家摄影学会硕士名衔，接著亦先后考获多项国内外摄影名衔。

他常受邀担任区域性及国际摄影影展评选员。目前担任新加坡彩色摄影学会及数个新马摄影团体之学术顾问，并教授摄影课程。

１９８７年为配合第四屈新加坡舞蹈节举办“舞”之舞台摄影作品个展，１９８９年举办“印度旅游摄影”二人联展，１９９０年于中国贵州省贵阳市举办个人影展，并三次荣获美国摄影学会彩色照片组国际摄影影展积分“世界十杰”奖，二次荣获全日本国际摄影大赛奖牌。对摄影界的积极贡献，使他于１９８４年荣获新加坡彩色摄影学会颁于荣誉高级会士，及１９８６年荣获国际摄影联盟颁于卓越服务奖。
